Poroshenko: European Union Accounts For 40% Of Ukraine's Foreign Trade Operations

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko says the European Union accounts for nearly 40% of Ukraine's foreign trade operations.

This is said in President Poroshenko's statement on the occasion of the enactment of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"In the firs six months of this year the foreign trade in goods and services of Ukraine with countries of the European Union grew by 22%," he says.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on Friday, the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union took effect.

The Association Agreement was signed in 2014.

On July 12, 2017, the Council of the European Union completed the process of ratification of the Association Agreement.

On July 13, 2017, European Council President Donald Tusk said the trade between Ukraine and the European Union had increased by 25%.
