SAGSUR Co-Chair Miklos Calls For Abolishing Posts Of Vice Prime Ministers Without Ministries

Ivan Miklos, the co-chairperson of the Strategic Advisory Group for Supporting Ukrainian Reforms (SAGSUR), does not exclude that there will be fewer members of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in future.

He gave the position in an interview with Ukrainian News Agency.

In particular, he sees reasons to abolish posts of vice prime ministers who do not possess ministries.

"I think a vice prime minister without a ministry is not needed very much. So, I think there is an opportunity to cut the number of members of the Cabinet of Ministers in future," he said.

In the Cabinet of Ministers there are six vice prime ministers, including four who do not possess ministries - Ivanna Klympush-Tsyntsadze, Viacheslav Kyrylenko, Volodymyr Kistion, and Pavlo Rozenko.

The Cabinet of Ministers has First Vice Prime Minister / Minister of Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv and Vice Prime Minister / Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Housing Public Utility Economy Hennadii Zubko.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the draft budget resolution for 2018-2020 foresees that the financing of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers will grow by 62.4% in 2020 to UAH 2.3 billion.
