The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has designated UAH 9 billion for preparation to the upcoming 2017/2018 heating season or 20% (UAH 1.8 billion) more to compare with the year before (the 2016/2017 heating season).
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said this at an interview for the Ukrainian radio, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Last year the government allocated UAH 7.2 billion for winter, while this year this amount has been increased to UAH 9 billion. Local administrative bodies have been granted vast powers [to spend the funding to meet their specific needs]," Groysman said.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in August the Ministry for Regional Development, Construction and Municipal-Housing Property assessed readiness of housing sector to the 2017/2018 winter at 71%.
Level of readiness of objects of social infrastructure was estimated at 78%.
