President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has deprived 28 persons of Ukrainian citizenship in 2017 over incorrect data in their applications for citizenship.
Verkhovna Rada member Iryna Lutsenko, the representative of the President at the Verkhovna Rada, said this live on the Fifth Channel in the evening of August 28, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
Lutsenko says Poroshenko has no time to think about ex-President of Georgia and ex-head of the Odesa regional state administration Mikheil Saakashvili, the leader of the New Forces Movement political party.
"It would be better to prove his innocence at Georgia's courts that were reformed (by then President of Georgia Saakashvili) and that are, as he said, most unbiased. This will prove there are no criminal cases against him," she said.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on July 26, the State Migration Service of Ukraine stated that President Petro Poroshenko had deprived Saakashvili of his Ukrainian citizenship.
