The Interpol has launched an international search to find 52 paintings of Ukraine's Museum Collection that were illegally brought to the Simferopol art museum in Crimea in March 2014.
The press service of the prosecutor of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea announced this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The market price of the 52 paintings is estimated at USD 1.324 million.
The investigation continues.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in July 2016, the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine said that the transfer of paintings by Ivan Aivazovsky from the Russia-annexed Crimea to the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow (Russia) for an exhibition was illegal.
