National Security and Defense Council Secretary (NSDC) Oleksandr Turchynov says Ukraine has not supplied weapons or military technologies to North Korea.

The press service of the NSDC announced this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"Ukraine has always adhered to all its international commitments, therefore, Ukrainian defense and aerospace complex did not supply weapons and military technology to North Korea. This was stated by Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov in his comment," reads the statement.

Turchynov says some foreign media began to distribute false information regarding the transfer of missile technology to North Korea by the state enterprise Yuzhny Machine-Building Plant named after A.M. Makarov Production Association (YUZHMASH, Dnipro).

"This information is not based on any grounds, provocative by its content, and most likely provoked by Russian secret services to cover their own crimes," he says.

Turchynov says Ukraine considers the regime of North Korea "totalitarian, dangerous and unpredictable", and supports all sanctions against this country, as well as sanctions against the Russian Federation.

Turchynov notes that since the outbreak of Russian aggression against Ukraine in 2014, Ukraine completely stopped supplying weapons, military equipment, and military technology to Russia.

He says Ukraine has never supplied rocket engines and any missile technology to North Korea.

Turchynov believes that the anti-Ukrainian campaign was triggered by Russian secret services to cover their participation in the North Korean nuclear and missile programs.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukraine has condemned another launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile by North Korea.

Ukraine has welcomed the decision of the United Nations' Council of August 5 to extend sanctions against the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in response to the recent launch of ballistic rockets by Pyohgyang.
