Yanukovych's Son Oleksandr Sues NBU At Ukrainian Court To Recover Damage

Oleksandr Yanukovych, the son of former president Viktor Yanukovych, has applied to the Pecherskyi District Court of Kyiv to demand that the National Bank of Ukraine compensate for damage.

The lawsuit was registered at the Pecherskyi District Court of Kyiv on August 10, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Oleksandr Yanukovych used to own 100% of shares of the Ukrainian Bank of Development.

On November 27, 2014, the National Bank of Ukraine declared the Ukrainian Bank of Development insolvent.

The Deposit Guarantee Fund placed the bank under provisional administration on November 28, 2014.

On January 20, 2016, the Higher Administrative Court upheld the resolutions of the National Bank of Ukraine regarding the Ukrainian Bank of Development.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in early May 2017, Interpol cancelled its international arrest warrants for former president Viktor Yanukovych, who is accused of high treason, and his son Oleksandr Yanukovych.
