427,200 Ukrainians Ask For Asylum In Russia, 9,600 In Germany, 9,300 In Italy Since January 2014

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), also known as the UN Refugee Agency, states that 427,240 Ukrainian citizens applied for asylum in Russia, 9,615 in Germany, 9,319 in Italy since January 2014.

This is said in information provided by UN Refugee Agency, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Another 4,278 Ukrainians applied for asylum in Poland, 3,495 in France, 3,148 in Sweden.

These figures show the total number of applications for asylum filed by Ukrainians since January 2014.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, 450,000 Ukrainian citizens applied for refugee status or an application for temporary asylum in Russia since April 2014.
