President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed a law introducing a new wording of the law on the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.
The presidential press service announced this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"The President has signed the law 'On Constitutional Court,'" reads the statement.
The law provided for changing the structure, powers, and procedure for selecting judges of the Constitutional Court.
In addition, it provided for introducing a competitive procedure for selecting candidates for the position of Constitutional Court judge.
The law increases wages of judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine to UAH 120,000.
The law introduces the voting by show of hands for Ombudsperson to replace the secret voting.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on July 13, 2017, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted a new wording of the law on the Constitutional Court.
With 226 votes required, 245 lawmakers voted for bill No.6427-d, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
