Russian pranksters had a phone conversation with the United States' Secretary of Energy Rick Perry by posing the conversation to be held on behalf of Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman.

This appears from the video published by pranksters on YouTube, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The conversation lasted 22 minutes.

During the conversation, the Secretary and the pranksters (on behalf of Groysman) discussed questions of coal shipments, Russian hackers, the Nord Stream-2 project and biological fuel.

In particular, Mr. Perry said that during his visit to Ukraine he planned to discuss a strategy of cooperation in the energy sector with Ukrainian authorities.

The American Secretary of Energy stressed that if the reform in the energy sector of Ukraine does not gain progress, it will hard for the United States' government to persuade oil and gas production companies to conclude contracts for oil and gas fields development in Ukraine.

Besides, Mr. Perry said that the United States were interested to discuss with Ukraine cooperation in the nuclear sector and said this will be on the agenda during his visit in August.

The Bloomberg media informed that press secretary of the Energy Department of the United States had confirmed that the conversation took place and that Perry had fallen for the prank.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in August 2016, Ukraine stated that it considered a provocation a phone conversation of President Petro Poroshenko with a person who introduced himself as President of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev.

Press Secretary of Poroshenko Sviatoslav Tseholko accused Foreign Ministry of Kyrgyzstan of coordination of the provocation with pranksters.
