President Petro Poroshenko has appointed Petro Tsyhykal as the chairperson of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. The new head of the authority was introduced on Tuesday, July 25, Ukrainian News Agency reports. Tsyhykal had headed the operation department of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. Earlier he was a deputy head of the southern regional department of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. In August 2015, Poroshenko ranked him as general lieutenant for participation in the anti-terrorist operation in Donbas. Tsyhykal was also engaged in covering operation along with the contact line within the security perimeter in Donetsk region. As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on Tuesday, Poroshenko dismissed Chairperson of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Viktor Nazarenko. On July 21, Nazarenko was hospitalized after he had fainted at the meeting between President Petro Poroshenko and President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko. Nazarenko was appointed to the position on October 23, 2014.
