NBU: Pension Reform Will Have Insignificant Influence On State Budget Deficit

The National Bank of Ukraine says the pension reform will have only insignificant influence on the size of the state budget deficit.

The National Bank of Ukraine gave the assessment in its updated inflation report, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The central bank is expecting the fiscal policies to become softer.

In the opinion of the central bank, the pension reform announced by the government will have positive influence on personal consumption but will cut the capacities of the state budget to finance the expenses of development.

The National Bank of Ukraine says the Naftogaz of Ukraine national joint stock company will not need support from the state budget.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in July 13, the Verkhovna Rada adopted at first reading the pension reform that envisions raising pensionable service period to 25 years before 2018 and to 35 years before 2028.
