The International Monetary Fund will not insist on adoption of a legislative base for land reform as a condition for disbursement of the next tranche of its Extended Fund Facility (EFF) loan to Ukraine.
A source familiar with the outcome of the recent negotiations between Ukraine and the IMF disclosed this to Ukrainian News Agency.
"The IMF will not insist on adoption of land reform to obtain the next tranche," the source said.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Finance Minister Oleksandr Danyliuk expressed doubts on July 5 that the IMF was willing to remove land reform as a condition for disbursement of the next loan tranche.
Ukraine expects the IMF to disburse USD 1.9 billion as the fifth tranche of the EFF loan in the autumn.
