Rada Adopts New Wording Of Law On Constitutional Court

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted a new wording of the law on the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.

With 226 votes required, 245 lawmakers voted for bill No.6427-d, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The bill provided for changing the structure, powers, and procedure for selecting judges of the Constitutional Court.

The bill increases wages of judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine to UAH 120,000.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on April 11, 2017, the Verkhovna Rada fused to adopt the new version of the law "On the Constitutional Court."

Bill No. 5336-1 received 179 votes, but it needed at least 226 votes to pass.

In June 2017, similar bill No.6427-d was registered at the Verkhovna Rada.
