Poroshenko Wants Involvement Of Internationally Recognized Foreign Detective In Investigation Into Murder Of Sheremet

Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), an international organization headquartered in New York City, says President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko calls for involvement of an internationally recognized foreign detective in the investigation into the murder of journalist Pavlo Sheremet.

CPJ Executive Director Joel Simon said this at a news briefing in Kyiv, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

He says President Petro Poroshenko met with representatives of the CPJ on July 11.

According to Joel Simon, President Petro Poroshenko suggested inviting an internationally recognized foreign detective in the national investigation team.

CPJ is urging the investigation to focus on the journalist work of Sheremet in Ukraine.

CPJ is urging Russia and Belarus to cooperate with the Ukrainian investigation.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in June 2017, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko called on law enforcement agencies to report in public about the investigation into the murder of Pavlo Sheremet.
