The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SACPO) has begun checking whether information in the electronic asset declaration of Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko is correct.
Member of Parliament Oleh Liashko, the leader of the Radical Party, announced this at the plenary session meeting of the Verkhovna Rada on July 12, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Two criminal cases have been instituted and put on the unified register of pre-trial investigations on fact of incorrect information in the declaration of Prosecutor General Lutsenko and on fact of illicit enrichment," he said.
According to MP Liashko, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office has opened the cases following his statements.
Deputy Prosecutor General / Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor Nazar Kholodnytskyi has confirmed this.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Member of Parliament Andrii Lozovyi from the faction of the Radical Party of Oleh Liashko urged the National Anticorruption Bureau of Ukraine to check absence of a collection of cold steel arms in the electronic asset declaration of Prosecutor General Lutsenko.
