Nika-Tera Seaport Ups Wages Of Employees By 20%

In the first half of 2017, the Mykolaiv-based Nika-Tera seaport, which is part of the Group DF port business increased wages of employees by 20%.

The press service of the Group DF announced in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the statement, the increase in wages became possible, primarily due to the improved efficiency of the terminal, as well as a significant increase in production indicators.

"This year, it is the second wage increase in our company. In March we raised wages for the first time by 10%, and in June, having evaluated the results of the company's work for five months, decided to raise wages by 10% more from July 1. Thus, today the average salary in the port is about UAH 9,000 and is one of the highest in the region", commented the chairperson of Nika-Tera Nataliya Dvornik.

The statement says that along with a planned increase in wages, Nika-Tera also carries out systematic work to expand the social package and improve the living conditions for the employees of the enterprise.

In particular, this year the company insured all port workers from accidents not only at work, but also at home.

In the plans for the future - further expand of the list of benefits and social bonuses.

In 2016, the company sent more than UAH 4.5 million for the implementation of such events as medical examinations, provision of a free transfer for employees, purchase of overalls and repair of household premises.

According to the statement, in parallel with the increase in wages for employees, Nika-Tera continues to implement the investment projects initiated earlier, aimed at increasing of the capacity and increasing of the efficiency of the business.

In particular, the company continues projects on the technical re-equipment of the terminal, increasing the capacity of the port, as well as a number of projects to launch additional storage capacities for various types of cargo

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in the first five months of 2017, Nika-Tera seaport increased the cargo handling by 74% to 1.97 million tons compared to the same period last year.

In 2016, the Nika-Tera marine terminal processed 4.022 million tons of cargo.

The Nika-Tera terminal has three specialized complexes and specializes in transshipment of cereals, mineral fertilizers, and other bulk cargo.

The sea terminal is located 63 kilometers from the sea on the left bank of the Bug Lyman. It has seven berths with a length of about 1,500 meters.
