Boryspil International Airport Head Riabikin Not To Sign Agreement With Ryanair If One Makes Airport Sustain Losses

Director General of the Boryspil International Airport Pavlo Riabikin states he does not intend to sign the agreement with the Ryanair low-cost company in case it will be unprofitable for the Ukrainian airport.

He has told this to the press, the Ukrainian News Agency reports.

In particular, the director general said that the airport is likely to suffer annual losses of UAH 2 billion if Ryanair get preferences on London route.

Riabikin accuses the Ryanair low-cost company of political pressure on the airport aiming to sign the contract.

"The provisions of the contract are highly confidential, however, at the end of it the contact reads "send a copy to [Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Volodymyr] Omelian." I cannot call this situation anything else but unhealthy," Riabikin said.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Director General of the Boryspil International Airport Pavlo Riabikin announced signing of the agreement with Ryanair.

In mid-March, Ryanair announced it will start flights from Kyiv to Eindhoven, London, Manchester and Stockholm from October 2017.
