The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is intending to provide Ukraine with equipment for satellite communications.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced this at a joint press conference with President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in Kyiv on Monday, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"Now we are working to provide Ukraine with equipment for satellite communications. We have recently provided Ukraine with equipment for cyber security. We are helping key governmental institutions better investigate into incidents in the field of cyber security such as the one which occurred recently," he said.

He says NATO welcomes assistance provided to Ukraine by some member states of the Alliance on the bilateral basis.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, NATO has allocated EUR 40 million to Ukraine through ten trust funds.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, and 29 delegations of the NATO member states are visiting Ukraine on July 9-10.
