PGO Finds With Former Deputy Head Of Presidential Administration Chmyr Undeclared USD 1.2 Million In Cash

The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine has found USD 1.2 million of former deputy head of the Presidential Administration Yurii Chmyr and has established that his daughter owns 14 flats in Kyiv.

Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko wrote this on his Facebook page, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"While checking media reports about illicit enrichment of Yurii Chmyr, former head of the Sumy regional state administration and former deputy head of the Presidential Administration of Yanukovych, detectives uncovered not only 14 flats of his daughter in Kyiv, but also big sums in cash that were not mentioned in the e-declaration," he said.

Law enforcers found USD 1.12 million in two safety deposit boxes of Chmyr. He declared USD 572,000 in cash.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Prosecutor General's Office has commenced investigation within a case against former deputy head of the Presidential Administration, member of the Sumy regional council Yurii Chmyr on suspicion of tax evasion.

The Prosecutor General's Office suspects that Yurii Chmyr might have been involved in organization of crackdown of Euromaidan in 2014.
