The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine (PGO) has detained Head of Land and Property Department Andrii Tymoshenko and Deputy Head of Legal Department of the Ukrzaliznytsia public joint-stock company A. Yaschenko on suspicion of bribe-taking. Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko has written this on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports. Lutsenko also said that currently operative-investigative activities and searches are underway. Press service of Ukrzaliznytsia said that the company cooperates with the investigation. Law enforcers conduct searches in administrative and some structural units of the company. The company provided access to premises and documents. The searches were authorized by the Dniprovskyi District Court of Kyiv. Managers of several departments are suspected of involvement in a fraudulent scheme on rent of a land plot in Piskivka (Kyiv region). Ukrzaliznytsia also stresses that the suspected Deputy Head of the Legal Department was appointed to the position as long ago as only June 1, 2017, and before his appointment he never worked in the railroad field. As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the PGO suspects officials of Ukrzaliznytsia in financing of terrorism.
