Ukraine has requested the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to provide lethal weapons for defense.
Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Ivanna Klympush-Tsyntsadze said this at the Rose-Roth Program (a series of seminars focused on regional and topical security issues and training programs), Ukrainian News Agency reports.
Klympush-Tsyntsadze stressed that Ukraine needs the weapon to defend itself against the Russian aggression.
She also said that only systematic pressure of all members of international community can make Russia to be more respectful of the international law.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy considers that the United States will take positive decision on provision of lethal weapon to Ukraine before the end of 2017.
