The National Police has opened 63 criminal proceedings in connection with cyber attacks on corporate computer networks and computer networks of state institutions.

The National Police's spokesman Yaroslav Trakalo announced this on the Kanal 5 television channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"As of today, 63 criminal proceedings have been launched under Article 361 (unauthorized interference with electronic computers, computer systems, computer networks, or telecommunication networks) of the Ukrainian Penal Code and the legal classifications of 115 cases are currently being determined," he said.

According to Trakalo, more than 1,500 legal and physical persons have filed complaints with the National Police over the past two days in connection with a cyber attack.

At the same time, according to him, only 178 applicants filed official statements.

Of these, 152 statements came from the private sector and 26 from the public sector.

The remainder of the persons that approached law enforcement agencies requested consultations.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the National Security and Defense Council's Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov believes that Russia is involved in the massive cyber attacks on Ukrainian state institutions, critical infrastructure, and the banking sector.
