Alasania: National Public Broadcasting Eyeing Sanctions For Ditching Russian Contester Samoilova From Participation In Eurovision-2017

The National Public Broadcasting of Ukraine (NPBU) eyes sanctions coming its way for ungrounded decision to bar contester from the Russian Federation Yuliya Samoilova from taking part in the Eurovision-2017 international song contest.

Chairperson of the NPBU Zurab Alasania has written this on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Alasania also wrote that the European Broadcasting Union also intends to impose certain penalties on the NPBU, and that Russia prepares a new lawsuit.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the State Committee for Television and Radio-Broadcasting of Ukraine addressed the Cabinet with request to postpone the deadline for repayment of UAH 450 million of guarantees for Eurovision-2017 from July to November 2017.
