Prosecutors Eyeing Appeal Against Verdict For 4 Soldiers Of Right Sector Volunteer Corps

Prosecutors are eyeing an appeal against the verdict of the local court in Mukachevo, Zakarpattia region, for four soldiers of the Right Sector volunteer Ukrainian corps on charges of participation in a skirmish in Mukachevo on July 11, 2015.

Larysa Sarhan, press secretary for Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko, wrote this on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The court sentenced the four soldiers of the Right Sector volunteer Ukrainian corps to three years and nine months in prison. As the period for the sentence had expired before the date of the verdict in compliance with the so-called Savchenko's law, the four soldiers of the Right Sector volunteer Ukrainian corps were freed in the court room.

"Prosecutors will make a decision on appealing against the verdict for soldiers of the Right Sector after close study of the text of the court verdict," wrote Sarhan.
