On Monday, the Information Policy Ministry of Ukraine intends to publish a list of websites that should be closed as they pose threat to the information security of Ukraine.

Minister Yurii Stets announced this at a press conference on Monday, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"In several hours you will see the list on the website of the ministry," he said.

He says the list is classified but he asks Artem Dydenko, the state secretary of the ministry, to cancel the label and publish the list within hours.

The list contains websites that the ministry suggests closing.

He added that the list would not contain the websites of VKontakte, Odnoklassniki, and Yandex.

The list contains a number of separatist websites.

He says the websites do more harm than Yandex, for example.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on May 16, 2017, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko enacted the National Security and Defense Council's decision to impose sanctions on 1,228 individuals and 468 legal entities. The decision also bans internet service providers from granting access to the Mail.ru, VKontakte, Odnoklassniki, and Yandex services.
