Poroshenko Awards Yatseniuk, Klimkin, Yeliseyev With Orders For Contribution To Obtaining Visa-Free Regime With EU

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has awarded former Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk with the Yaroslav the Wise Order of the Fourth Class, Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Kostiantyn Yeliseyev and six more people with the For Merits Order of the Third Class for their contribution to obtaining the visa-free regime with the European Union.

Ukrainian News Agency learned this from a presidential decree No. 165 of June 19.

In particular, the awards were given for considerable personal contribution to the implementation of the European integration aspirations of Ukraine, establishing a visa-free travel regime with the European Union, strengthening the international standing of the state, many years of dedicated work and high professionalism.

President Poroshenko has also awarded former Deputy Foreign Minister Andrii Olefirov with the For Merits Order of the Third Class.

In addition, the For Merits Order of the Third Class was awarded to Chairperson of the Vidrodzhennia international fund / Science Director of the Institute for Euro-Atlantic Cooperation Oleksandr Sushko, Executive Director of the Europe Without Barriers civil organization Iryna Sushko, Director of the Institute of World Policy Olena Hetmanchuk and Director of the Unian information agency's office to the EU Iryna Somer.

Poroshenko also posthumously awarded journalist Serhii Voropayev with the For Merits Order of the Third Class.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, starting June 11, the citizens of Ukraine having biometric passports may visit 26 countries - members of the European Union, excluding the United Kingdom and Ireland.
