Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman states that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine intends to suggest that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine distribute UAH 15 billion among municipal heating enterprises to compensate subsidies and benefits.
He said this during an hour of questions to members of the Ukrainian Government at the Ukrainian Parliament, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
Groysman noted that the amount is already available and the subsidies debt issue can be tackled in June.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on June 7, Supervisory Board Member of the Energy Strategies Institute Yurii Korolchuk said that water supply and municipal heating enterprises will not be able to conduct repairs and will start job cuts due to insufficient financing of subsidies.
He estimates state arrears before energy, water and gas distribution companies as at early June at UAH 20 billion.
