President Petro Poroshenko has signed into a law the bill on increase of a minimum amount of alimonies for one child from 30% to 50% of the minimum wages for a child, in accordance with their age.
This is said in the respective bill posted on the website of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
According to the law, the amount of alimonies must be sufficient to provide for balanced development of a child.
It also states that a parent who has custody of the child defines the way in which the alimonies should be collected.
The law states that alimonies is the property of a child and that the parent who is entitled to receiving of alimonies is obliged to use them strictly for the benefit of the child.
In addition, a parent entitled to alimonies has a right to demand through court issuance of a court order to collect alimonies in the amount of 1/4 for one child, 1/3 for two children and 1/2 for three and more children of a salary (income) of a tax payer liable for alimonies, however, the claimed amount not exceeding ten minimum wages for one child, in accordance with their age.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in May 2016, the Verkhovna Rada included alimonies in the list of objects subject to indexation.
