The second International annual forum ENERGY SECURITY FOR THE FUTURE: new vision, strategy, innovation was held on June 2, 2017 in Monte Carlo, Monaco, the press service of the Burisma company announced. The event became the largest project in Europe on energy security and search for new environmental standards. The current Forum was attended by more than 200 guests, including European politicians, opinion leaders, security experts, journalists and international energy companies of the European Union, offering revolutionary technologies and changing energy at the global level.

The Forum addressed Europe’s energy security issues with focus on Ukraine’s role in the European market.

His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco; President of Poland (1995-2005) Aleksander Kwasniewski; President of Slovenia (2007-2012) Danilo Turk; Member of the European Parliament and leader of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe, Prime Minister of Belgium (1999-2008) Guy Verhofstadt; European Commissioner for Energy (2004 and 2009 years) Andris Piebalgs; Director of CIA’s Counterterrorist Center (1999-2002) and Ambassador at Large for Counter-Terrorism (2002-2004) of the US President George Bush's Administration Joseph Cofer Black; Director of Dina Patriciu Eurasia Center of the Atlantic Council and US Ambassador to Ukraine (2003-2006) John E. Herbst and other honored guests took part in this Forum.

The Ukrainian government delegation to the Forum was headed by the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Kistion. The Verkhovna Rada was represented by the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Tax and Customs Policy, Member of Parliament Nina Yuzhanina, and the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry - by Nataliya Boiko, Deputy Minister for European Integration. Also representatives of the Embassy of Ukraine in France, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, ministries and departments participated in the Forum from the Ukrainian side.

The Forum opens with a speech from His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco.

The Forum participants noted the important role of Ukraine in the formation of the European energy security strategy, as well as the high representation of the Ukrainian political and energy elite at the event in Monaco. ENERGY SECURITY FOR THE FUTURE Forum: New Vision, Strategy, Innovation for the second time has become a platform that unites countries and leaders around the idea of ​​energy security of the future. And the importance of Ukraine is growing every year. This is promoted both by the new energy strategy of the government, and by significant steps in reforming of the energy sector and integration into the European community. Particular attention was paid to effective changes in Ukraine's fiscal policy and new instruments to stimulate hydrocarbon production.

“Ukraine is already part of Europe. We cannot ignore the processes, taking place in EU. Only at such Energy Summits, where the leaders of the EU and Ukraine political and public life are present, we can exchange our positions and find the instruments for achieving energy independence both within countries and in the European community”, said the President of Burisma Group Mykola Zlochevskyi.
