The First Disciplinary Chamber of the Higher Council of Justice (HCJ) has refused to open a disciplinary proceeding against judge of the Kramatorsk City Court (Donetsk region) Larysa Pereverzeva who ruled to allow special confiscation of USD 1.5 billion of former president Viktor Yanukovych and his associates.
The HCJ First Disciplinary Chamber took the respective decision at the meeting on Thursday, June 1, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on March 28, judge Pereverzeva ruled to confiscate USD 1.5 of money that belong to Yanukovych and his entourage within the court proceedings against former director of the Gas of Ukraine - 2020 company Arkadii Kashkin.
One month later the decision took effect and the confiscated funds had been transferred to the state budget.
In May, seven Cyprus-based companies - holders of domestic government bonds challenged the decision of the Kramatorsk City Court on special confiscation of USD 1.5 billion, but the court rejected the appeal.
