Food Safety Service Records Botulism In Kherson

The State Service on Food Safety and Consumer Protection recorded the disease with botulism in Kherson.

The Food Safety Service announced this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

In addition, the service has established a manufacturer that supplied products to retail chains in Kyiv, in which dried fish was bought by victims of botulism in the capital.

The manufacturer of fish products, which was sold in the Karavan and Megamarket hypermarkets in Kyiv, is the businessman Merkulov A.V., and the supplier - Chudo-Yudo LLC (Svitlovodsk, Kirovohrad region).

Samples of products were sent for investigation to determine the presence and type of botulinum toxin to the Kirovohrad Regional Laboratory Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine state institution.

At the moment, the manufacturer recalls products that may be a potential source of infection.

In addition, a case of botulism in Kherson, which may be associated with the consumption of fish of the same producer, is recorded.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Food Safety Service registered three cases of botulism in Kyiv, including one with a fatal outcome due to the use of dried fish, bought in a supermarket.
