Minister of Defense Stepan Poltorak has signed the order on drafting retired officers to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2017.
Artur Artemenko, the head of the Main Staff Department / Deputy Head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has said this at a briefing, the Ukrainian News Agency reports.
In compliance with the order, the officers will serve for 18 months.
The order will take effect once it is approved by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Ministry of Defense states that about 13,000 servicemen have started service under contract since January.
