Law Enforcers Seize USD 1 Million, EUR 250,000, 2 Kg Of Gold From Ex-Head Of Fiscal Service In Kyiv Nyzenko

Law enforcers have seized USD 1 million, EUR 250,000 and 1 kg of gold during search of former head of the State Fiscal Service (SFS) in Kyiv Oleh Nyzenko.

Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov has written this on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"From Nyzenko, who since 2014 has lived in Spain, [law enforcers] seized 15 paintings, five icons, items made of gold, silver, approximately USD 1 million, EUR 250,000 and 2 kg of gold," the minister said.

In addition, two cars Mercedes and Volkswagen were also seized.

Besides, Avakov said the total of 26 of former employees of the SFS had been detained so far, including former deputy head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Fiscal Service Hennadii Kozak who was almost taken off the plane - detained in the Boryspil International Airport (Kyiv region), and former head of Artemivsk District Fiscal Service in Luhansk Olha Hulka - detained in Truskavets (Lviv region).

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on May 24, 2,300 law enforcers conducted approximately 400 searches in 15 regions and detained 23 former managers of the SFS charged with suspicion of defrauding the state of UAH 96 billion.
