Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko blames the National Police of Ukraine for mistakes during the investigation into the murder of journalist Pavlo Sheremet in Kyiv in July 2016.
He said this during his report over the first year in office at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
He says the investigation is carried out by the National Police.
"I have to admit there was a mistake in the investigation. They took 221 security cameras, but they did not take the most important security camera, which contained very important information to the investigation," he said.
Prosecutor General Lutsenko regrets that journalists published the records from the security camera. He wishes the journalists had given the records from the security camera only to police detectives.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Serhii Kniazev, the head of the National Police of Ukraine, does not exclude mistakes of policemen during the investigation into the murder of journalist Sheremet.
