European Parliament President Antonio Tajani has signed a document providing visa-liberalization for Ukrainian citizens.
The signing ceremony took place in Strasburg, France, on Wednesday, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
Minister for Home Affairs and National Security of Malta Carmelo Abela signed the document also.
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko was taking part in the signing ceremony.
The document has yet to be published in the European Union's official journal (May 22).
The visa-free regime will enter into force 20 days after its publication (approximately on June 11).
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on May 11, 2017, the Council of the European Union endorsed provision of visa-free regime to Ukraine.
The European Parliament approved the granting of visa-free travel to the European Union for citizens of Ukraine on April 6.
The Committee of Permanent Representatives in the European Union (COREPER) approved the inclusion of Ukraine on the list of third countries that do not need visas on April 26, 2017.
