The Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) states that former president Viktor Yanukovych and head of his Administration Andrii Kliuev were delivered from Ukraine to Russia by Russian military helicopters on February 22-23, 2014.
Prosecutor from the special investigations department of the PGO Oleksii Donskoi has told this to the Novaya Gazeta publication (the Russian Federation), Ukrainian News Agency reports.
According to him, then Yanukovych stayed in Russia for 10-12 hours and made a domestic flight from Yeisk to Anapa.
On February 23, 2014 at about 1 p.m., the former president flew from Anapa to a military airport outside Simferopol (Crimea).
In Crimea, he stayed until the night over February 24.
Then he returned to Russia by a military vessel.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on May 4, the Obolonskyi District Court of Kyiv started consideration of the case against Yanukovych accused of high treason.
