During one year in office Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko has not managed to meet a number of his pledges, including the pledge to dismiss his deputy Yurii Stoliarchuk and several pledges to bring to the Verkhovna Rada motions to strip deputy immunity from several MPs suspected of high treason and other crimes.

In particular, in September 2016 Yurii Lutsenko promised to bring to the Parliament motions to strip deputy immunity from several MPs suspected of high treason. No motions have been brought to the Verkhovna Rada so far.

He also promised to dismiss Stoliarchuk but the latter still holds the post of deputy prosecutor general in charge of investigation.

The prosecutor general also intended to bring to the Verkhovna Rada another motion to strip deputy immunity from MP Mosiichuk from the faction of the Radical Party, but it has not been done.

In September 2016 Yurii Lutsenko promised to bring a motion to strip deputy immunity from MP Mykola Skoryk (the Opposition Bloc), but it has not been done either.

In February 2017, Yurii Lutsenko promised motions to strip deputy immunity from three MPs suspected of tax evasion - Nestor Shufrych (the Opposition Bloc), Oleksandr Surunenko (independent), and Viacheslav Konstantinovskyi (independent), but the pledge has yet to be met.

The prosecutor general promised to accomplish by the end of 2016 the investigation into tragic events outside Illovaisk, Donetsk region, of 2014, but the case is not accomplished yet.

Yurii Lutsenko also promised to bring to a court a case against former president Viktor Yanukovych and his entourage by the end of 2016. The case against Yanukovych was brought to a court in March 2017.

However, Yurii Lutsenko has met his pledge to disband a department of the Prosecutor General's Office investigating Euromaidan cases.

He has introduced a post of deputy prosecutor general in charge of reforms and met his pledge to double wages of prosecutors.

Yurii Lutsenko has accomplished lustration of prosecutors.

According to a poll conducted by the Sofia social research center late in 2016, 70% of Ukrainians negatively assessed the work of Yurii Lutsenko at the post of prosecutor general.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Yurii Lutsenko was appointed prosecutor general on May 12, 2016.
