EU Council Endorses Provision Of Visa-Free Regime To Ukraine

The ministers of the European Union for issues of agriculture and fishery have endorsed provision of visa-free regime to Ukraine.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko wrote this on his page in Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"Yes! We have done this!!! The Council of Minister of the European Union has just endorsed a final decision to provide us, Ukrainian citizens, with the right to visa-free trips," he wrote.

The decision on visa-free regime will be signed (May 17) and published in the European Union's official journal (May 22).

The visa-free regime will enter into force 20 days after its publication (approximately on June 11).

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the European Parliament approved the granting of visa-free travel to the European Union for citizens of Ukraine on April 6.

The Committee of Permanent Representatives in the European Union (COREPER) approved the inclusion of Ukraine on the list of third countries that do not need visas on April 26.
