The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Investment Bank (EIB) plan to allocate the UkrGasVydobuvannya state-run gas-producing company a USD 76-million-loan for procurement of compressor plants equipment and workover of boreholes.

The EBRD has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The project is financed by the EBRD and EIB and envisages elevating capacity of the currently operating compressor plants as well as construction of new ones to ensure stability and to increase gas production, and also to reduce operational costs at boreholes.

In addition, the project envisages increase in number of drill rigs for major workover at boreholes in order to improve workover efficiency and reduce idle time of the boreholes.

Auctions for the aforesaid contracts are to start in the third quarter of 2017.

Equipment procurement will be done in accordance with banks procedures.

In particular, it is planned to procure gas-turbine compressors and piston compressors as well as workover rigs of different cargo capacity.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2016, the company increased its net profit 78 times to UAH 11.919 billion.

In 2016, the company increased its net revenues from sales of products and provision of services 2.5 times or UAH 33.176 billion to UAH 55.041 billion year over year.

The company's net profit for 2015 was UAH 153.041 million.

The considerable increase in the revenues and net profit of the company in 2016 accounted for the decision of the government and the Verkhovna Rada to increase the sale price of natural gas to the Naftogaz of Ukraine national joint stock company and to cut the subsoil use rent.

In 2016, UkrGasVydobuvannya increased gas production by 0.5% or 77 million cubic meters to 14.605 billion cubic meters year over year (14.528 billion cubic meters in 2015).

UkrGasVydobuvannya is the largest state gas production company in Ukraine.

The Naftogaz of Ukraine national joint stock company owns 100% of the shares in UkrGasVydobuvannya.
