The Bureau of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has passed a no-confidence motion against PACE President Pedro Agramunt and prohibited him any actions on behalf of the Assembly.
Member of Parliament from the faction of the Solidarity Bloc of Petro Poroshenko Volodymyr Ariev, the leader of the Ukrainian delegation to the PACE, wrote this on his Facebook page, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
He says the PACE does not have any procedures for dismissing the PACE President from the post as the PACE has never faced such necessity.
He says the regulation committee of the PACE should elaborate the procedure.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, 23 Ukrainian MPs are asking the Parliament of Spain to consider calling off of Pedro Agramunt, the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, from the Spanish delegation to the PACE.
Media reported that on March 20, 2017, some PACE deputies and PACE President Agramunt arrived in Syria together with a delegation of the Russian State Duma.
PACE President Agramunt explains he visited Syria with a Russian delegation in March 2017 as a Spanish senator and not as the President of the PACE.
