Poroshenko, Lukashenko To Take Part In Events Dedicated To 31st Anniversary Of Chernobyl Tragedy On April 26

On April 26, 2017, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko will meet on the territory of Belarus and will take part in events on the territory of Ukraine dedicated to the 31st anniversary of the disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

The press service of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko announced this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"The Heads of the States will pay tribute to victims of the Chernobyl disaster and will visit a number of facilities on the territory of the Chornobyl NPP," reads the statement.

Presidents Poroshenko and Lukashenko will hold negotiations on the territory of Belarus.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin and Foreign Minister of Belarus Vladimir Makei have agreed to discuss organization of joint events on the occasion of the anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster.
