The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine suspects former management of PrivatBank of large-scale embezzlement through issuance of loans to affiliated firms.
This is said in the ruling of the Kyiv Pecherskyi District Court of April 5, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The document reads that the suspicion concerns PrivatBank's accounts receivable worth UAH 372.78 million.
The investigation has established that PrivatBank has concluded loan agreements with a number of limited liability companies against corporate rights. The Privatofis Company was surety in the loan agreements.
The Privatofis Company owned 415 real estate assets, but none of them is collateral on the loan agreements.
The investigation has established that regardless of the ban of the National Bank of Ukraine to perform transactions with affiliated parties the management of PrivatBank issued loans to affiliated parties and that resulted in embezzlement of large sums.
The Kyiv Pecherskyi District Court has satisfied the motion of the Prosecutor General's Office and ordered to arrest 415 real estate assets of the Privatofis Company.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the National Bank of Ukraine says the last night before the nationalization of PrivatBank there were fraudulent operations worth UAH 16 billion.
