Poroshenko Approves Ratification Of Agreement On Technical, Financial Cooperation With Norway

President Petro Poroshenko has signed into law ratification of the Agreement on technical and financial cooperation between Ukraine and Norway.

Press service of the President has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The agreement was signed in Oslo on October 18, 2016 during an official stay of Petro Poroshenko in Norway.

The agreement covers all future programs and projects of technical assistance or financial aid that will be implemented in Ukraine and partially or entirely financed by Norway.

The technical assistance includes training, advising, equipping and furnishing materials, as well as providing assistance in the implementation of new technologies that are vital for the success of programs and projects.

The financial aid will be provided for procuring of equipment and materials, payment for works and services that are required for successful implementation of programs and projects.

Under the terms of the project, Ukraine must guarantee exemption from taxes or other similar duties for the goods that are necessary to implement the programs and projects under the agreement.

And property of experts who are not citizens of Ukraine must be exempt from consequential taxes for the period of implementation of the programs and projects, and Ukraine must guarantee to those experts exemption from tax on income received from implementation of the programs and services.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in February, Norway transferred to Ukraine equipment for detection of radioactive materials worth approximately EUR 700,000.
