President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko says tank elements of the Ukrainian army are on full combat alert.
President Poroshenko said this while inspecting a tank brigade in Luhansk region, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"In compliance with the Minsk agreements heavy artillery and tanks, heavy weaponry have been removed from the front positions. But all tank units, all tank elements are on full combat alert and are ready to return to consolidate our defense lines very quickly when necessary," he said.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, President Petro Poroshenko says the election of the President of Russia in 2018 is another reason to enhance the military combat readiness of the Ukrainian armed forces.
