Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman says the Cabinet of Ministers so far has not imposed any ban on import of anthracite coal from the Russian Federation.

The Prime Minister has said this at the Tuesday press conference, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

In particular, the Prime Minister said that he considered import from other countries such as United States or Australia more expedient.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on March 3, Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Ihor Nasalyk expressed intention to urge the Cabinet to ban all imports of anthracite coal from Russia in order to prevent illegal shipments of coal from the uncontrolled territories of Donbas under the guise of Russian coal.

Nasalyk did not specify when he planned to take this measure.

Starting February 13, activists of the railroad blockade at the line of contract completely stopped shipment of coal from the uncontrolled territories of Donbas to Ukrainian thermal power plants.
