The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has allowed citizens who do not have permanent residential address and legally reside in dormitories for considerable period of time (over 5 years) to privatize their dormitory premises after transferring them into possession of territorial communities.
With 226 votes required, 256 lawmakers voted for bill No.1076 at second reading with proposals made by President Petro Poroshenko to the bill, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in May 2016, President Petro Poroshenko applied the veto right to the law allowing citizens, lawfully living for a long time (five years and longer) in dormitories for lack of their own dwelling, to privatize the premises they live in free of charge after the transfer into ownership of territorial communities.
