Repair Crews Restore Power Supply To Avdiivka, Donetsk Region

Repair crews have restored electricity supply to Avdiivka (Donetsk region).

The press service of the State Emergency Service announced this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"The repair and restoration work on damaged power transmission line was completed at 03:00 p.m. on April 4. Power supply to Avdiivka had been restored as of 04:00 p.m.," the statement said.

The State Emergency Service also expects the Donetsk water filtration station to re-launch operation on April 5.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, a 110-kV high-voltage power transmission line near Avdiivka was damaged on March 14 as a result of fighting, which led to cessation of electricity supplies Avdiivka, the Avdiivka coke plant (Ukraine's largest coke producer), and the Donetsk water filtration station.

Avdiivka was without electricity, heating, and water supply on March 5, March 11, February 18, February 24, and January 30 because of damage to power transmissions lines as a result of fighting.
