Cabinet Approves Action Plan For Government For 2017, Interim Plan Of Priority Actions Until 2020

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved an action plan for the Government until 2017 and an interim plan of priority actions until 2020.

The decision has been taken at the governmental meeting, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The plan was presented by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman.

The plan envisages ensuring steady economic growth (gradual annual increase by 4-5% of GDP), improvement of business-climate, attracting investments, prioritizing in different fields, continuing a deregulation course, pursuing energy self-efficiency, development of transport infrastructure, increasing overall level of state governance, reforming healthcare and education, financial support to culture and mass sports, reforming judiciary, enhancing anticorruption element and improving quality of interaction with local administrative bodies.

The plan also envisages building strategic communication for European and Euro-Atlantic integration of the temporary occupied territories.

The main focus is made on national security and defense.

The plan has been open for public discussion since late 2016.

From the government's point of view, the key areas in the plan are pension reform, privatization, health care reform, land and education reforms.

The coordination over the implementation of the action plan will be carried out by prime minister, then by the secretariat, the Cabinet and the Office of Reforms at the government.

Ministries will bear responsibility for implementation of the plan in different fields.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on February 14, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a report on the results of the government activity in 2016 and passed it on to the Verkhovna Rada.
