Groysman Promises To Increase Pensions From October

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman promises to increase pensions from October 2017.

Prime Minister Groysman announced this at the presentation of the action plan of the Cabinet of Ministers for 2017 and the plan for the period until 2020 at a sitting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Monday, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

He says 80% of pensioners in Ukraine are beneath the income poverty line.

The Prime Minister says he knows how to carry out the pension reform to achieve the deficit-free budget of the Pension Fund in the mid-term perspective.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Prime Minister Groysman urges the Verkhovna Rada to adopt a bill of the Cabinet of Ministers on pension reform before July 15, 2017.

Finance Minister Oleksandr Danyliuk predicted that the bill on the pension reform would be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada before April 2017.

Prime Minister Groysman believes it is possible to come to the deficit-free budget of the Pension Fund before 2024.
